SAMUEL BECKETT EXHIBITION

A photographic exhibition of Beckett by renowned photographer John Minihan took place at THE APARTMENT 25th April - 28th May 2006. John Minihan (born Dublin 1946) is one of Ireland’s most celebrated photographers, famous for literary portraits and landscapes. His close friendship with Samuel Beckett produced some of the most remarkable photographs ever taken of the writer.

FACING THE MASK

Welsh born Elinor Evans, currently living and working in Spain, divides her time between Spain, Wales and London. In 2005 she completed her MA in Painting in the Royal College of Art, where in 2004 she won the Amlin Prize for the most promising young artist. In Febuary 2006 she exhibited and directed The Shaman Project, which like the nomads, is a moving, exhibition/event of music, art and performance. The second edition of the The Shaman Project can be experienced in Bilbao throughout September.

MY FAVOURITE STAR

‘My favourite Star’ is a westerner’s abstract observation that highlights the ‘Changing face of the Icon’ and its impact on society in the shadow of the marketing machine. It considers family values while encouraging a dialogue of power, close to the hearts of a beautiful and colourful culture. We are taken on a magic carpet ride to share the dreams of a nation through Natalie’s ‘Modern Statement Portraiture’ that is both unique and undoubtably at the forefront of creativity.
